grandpa jerry was in town this weekend, so one of the things we did was go to the zoo. it was the perfect day for the zoo, barely anybody was there (i think because of the coming storm), so we were able to go to the stingray exhibit. alex wouldn't stick her hand in the water to touch the rays, but the rest of us did, and she was enjoying watching them up close. i think this was the first time that she didn't nap at the zoo also - she was really noticing the animals this time too. she got to pet some real tiger fur and a lot of the animals were active and about. on saturday, alex had her gymnastics class, she did really well. she still wouldn't talk to the teacher, but she was doing somersaults and waiting her turn and sitting on her carpet square and all. the first picture up here, is me, alex and grandpa jerry at the stingray exhibit. the second picture is alex on her new balance beam that her daddy made her on a whim last night - she really likes it.
