is that present for me?

busy first week of holiday break for alex. mimi came into town for a quick visit, thanks mimi. then we went to the great wolf lodge for an overnight water park visit. that was great, of course alex loved that. she was really comfortable in the water - she still didn't want to stand under that dumping bucket of water, but who could blame her. santa happened to also be at the lodge, so we got to see him and ask him what his favorite snack is - chocolate chip cookies and chocolate milk (so, that's what we left out for santa). we were at great-grandma's place on christmas eve after we got back from the water park. that was fun, alex was dancing center stage for everyone while we all sang christmas carols. then...christmas morning! alex woke up at 6am asking if we could go downstairs and open presents, but i convinced her to fall back asleep for a little while - yay. so we had stockings to open and try to eat a quick breakfast then the gifts under the tree. some big, fun gifts that alex got were the mini grand piano from grandpa regan and michelle, the american girl doll bitty baby from grandpa jerry, and the easy bake oven from bopey and normy-norm. we spent some time playing with all our new stuff then off to bopey and normy-norm's for another christmas! alex did pretty well with her patience but there were a few moments of near breakdown from exhaustion. by the way, the new baby doll's name is AndrewFayBrook Hat, but we call her baby Andy for short :) and according to alex, the andrewfaybrook is all one first name. we've already tried baking something in the easy bake oven, but when we went to go put the cake (it wasn't looking too good already) in the oven we figured out that there was no light bulb in the oven and we didn't have one in the house at all.  oops. happy holidays - there's still so much to come this week.
