we had a super packed weekend. saturday was a long day of soccer at 9am, then playdate with friend abby, then back home to babysit cousin abbey. soccer went well, alex likes to be in the goal (mainly because she doesn't have to pay attention i think). then we went over to her friend abby's house for a little bit to play - they had fun together. and then we babysat cousin abbey while everyone else went to a wedding. alex was very helpful, feeding abbey, grabbing wet wipes for diaper changes and so forth. alex slept well that night. then sunday we went to the pumpkin festival. it was the first time we've had a weekend without rain in quite some time, but it was blazing hot. she rode a pony, pet some animals, got her face painted, and picked out her pumpkin on the hay ride. the hay ride was her favorite part and of course she didn't want to wash off her face later because she wanted to show all her friends at school, but she gave in on that.
