the muddy season

alex is still trying to get over this cold, as well as the rest of us, but soccer was still on this weekend. even though it rained all week and it was rather cold we still played soccer. alex wanted to play goalie again, which she did a good job doing. then she played halfback which again she doesn't seem to quite understand and then she ended the game playing forward. she would have played longer as forward but as you can see in this diagramed photo her cleat got stuck in the mud while she kept running! so her sock was coated in mud and john had to run out and carry her off the field. it was pretty comical. and we discovered that alex loves meatloaf - yay, adding foods is always a good thing with her, otherwise she might turn into a grilled cheese sandwich.
