schools out for summer

a lot of things wrapped up this week for alex and she's officially on summer break. tuesday was alex's last day of first grade! she got very nice marks, especially in math and she's really doing well in reading - her report card says she is very ready for the second grade. alex also lost one of her top front teeth that day at school. the tooth fairy came that night and alex has a pretty large gaping hole in her mouth; it's cute. wednesday night was alex's drum recital. they played in the atrium of OPA and there were piano and voice performers as well. alex did great for her part of the recital - she's a lot better at drums than the impression i had. then grandpa jerry and uncle john came into town for a weekend visit. alex had her last soccer game of the season on saturday. the coach even gave them trophies with their names on it (alex was really impressed it was a girl trophy.) she also went to taekwondo all week and is starting to think about her next paper she has to write for her next belt test. and now summer camp at alex's daycare officially starts this week; she's never done the summer camp before and she is really thrilled and having super fun so far. the first summer camp field trip is this week at pump it up - alex can't wait.
