sunny days and wrapping up the school year
it's been busy weeks for everyone lately as the school year is coming to a close. alex had field day on friday at school: i guess they brought in all sorts of inflatables, like an obstacle course and bounce house and slide. plus i think it was someone's birthday at school, so she got treats and bouncy fun. on saturday, alex got her first tip on her yellow belt, yay. then she had a soccer game. she did well, it was hot and she was running a lot! we spent a lot of time in the sun this weekend with the inflatable pool and then when we drained that we got out the sprinkler. alex caught a toad in the backyard as well, that she set up in one of her habitats with some water and bugs for food. on sunday, we went to the kiddie park with sarah and carter. alex is getting tall and it appears as though this might be her last summer where she's able to go to the kiddie park - there's a maximum height requirement. they had fun. they rode every single ride. carter did well on the roller coaster the first time when he rode with sarah, but when he rode with alex on his second time he didn't like that at all. after all the rides we went over to steak 'n' shake. yum, alex and carter (and sarah and i) all loved our milkshakes and the kids' got their retro paper diner hats. only two more days of school for alex this week; last week for soccer; last week for drums. taekwondo continues thru summer and alex has summer camp soon (she's particularly excited about pump it up and the young chef's academy.)
