heritage days parade
this past weekend was olmsted falls heritage days festival. the weekend always kicks off with the town's big parade. alex chose to be in the parade this time (for the first time) with her taekwondo school. she always has the option of joining in with taekwondo or daycare, but has never done it before because she wanted to catch candy. this time she got to throw the candy - and she said she really enjoyed "being around all that candy." john and i rode our bikes up to town to watch her and try to catch a little candy for her, but i guess people don't want to throw candy to the adults that are there without a kid, haha. we got some candy for her though and she actually held on to a pack of sour patch kids specifically for me. that was sweet. alex also had her pump it up field trip last week. that's the one she has been looking forward to all summer and she had a great time. it's one of those inflatable jump places and i guess now they do glow in the dark stuff too. summer is about to wrap up. this week is her last official week of summer camp and she gets her teacher's list this week. all her supplies have been bought and she picked out her back to school outfit. she's all set and really eager to get back to school next week - 3rd grade!
