john was in canada this weekend for a boys' weekend, which meant that it was girls' weekend for alex and i. friday night we had amazing seats for Cinderella at the Palace Theatre - thank you, bopey for the tickets. the show was great - the costume changes were amazing and it was funny. we both really enjoyed it. and even though it was a late night out for alex, i dragged her back out front of the theater so we could get some night shots/selfies with the giant chandelier - i love that thing. saturday was taekwondo and grocery shopping and some cleaning and some hot outdoor time. followed by disney's new live action movie, Descendants (which alex loved.) sunday morning, alex and i went to iHop. they apparantly don't make the red velvet pancakes anymore :( i must have been the only person ordering them. so i went a little healthy with the wheat and nut pancakes and alex went all in with the chocolate chocolate chip pancakes! wow. we got in some more outdoor time on sunday and then got ready for the week. oh, we woke sunday to find that Blizz, the mischevious cat, had stolen the entire butterfly net house and was playing with it (butterflies inside - alone with one cocoon still to open) on the ground! now they are hanging from the ceiling - and Blizz has been hanging out beneath them ever since tapping them periodically. and the last butterfly emerged (i was worried he'd be too tramatized) and they are all enjoying some sugar water now.
