alex had an up and down week. it started off monday with a trip to urgent care! she got a metal splinter in her knee and the school nurse couldn't get it out. i think the hinge of her desk or something broke and then she kneeled on a piece. she was in a lot of pain until the doctor could pull it out. she was a trooper - it was a really rather long piece of metal. alex then had a math test this week, which i just saw and she did great. john also went to alex's school conference with her teacher. her teacher seems really great and alex is doing really well in school. she got her report card as well, which was great, and it earned her an academic achievement patch at taekwondo. the weekend was mostly spent getting things done. but we went on an impromptu visit to the christmas story house on sunday. it was a lot of fun. there was a line formed before the house even opened. i still have to load my pictures - this one is from sarah - we're all sitting at the movie's kitchen table. after the house we went into the museum; it was fun to see all the actual movie memoribilia. later on sunday we watched the movie at home.
