friday was alex's last day of fourth grade! yay. it is crazy early this year, but so nice to get a break from packing lunches and homework and such. on tuesday last week, alex had her lacrosse banquet. it was a potluck with a video of the season for both boys and girls teams thru middle school. alex had a lot of fun at that. john was out of town opening the cabin and working hard all weekend. alex and i started on the weekend by going out for sushi friday night to celebrate the end of the school year, straight As, perfect attendance and she just found out she got into advanced math again for next year. saturday, we filled the pool and assembled the pool ladder and did a bit of cleaning (there was a lot of cleaning to do including her cleaning out her backpack.) it took all day to fill that pool, but it looks great and alex will have the depth to do some proper swimming. that afternoon/night alex went over to her girlfriend's house for a burn party with all her friends. they've been planning this for probably a month now. they wanted to burn all their homework from the school year! she had a great time doing that and they made smores and roasted donuts and hung out. sunday, we did more cleaning and alex went on a bike ride and laundry and crafting. monday, alex was in the falls memorial day parade with the lacrosse team. it is the smallest parade ever, but she had fun and it's always nice to get some steps in. then we enjoyed some outdoor pool time, signed alex up for summer reading, and she did almost 2 hours of kahn academy. and john got home, yay! happy memorial day.
