1st day of 5th grade!

alex's last "field trip" this past week was to have an animal guy come to daycare with a bunch of critters. she always enjoys this guy and really loves the chinchilla so that was a nice way to end her summer vacation. saturday, alex went to her friend grace's birthday party. they went to skyzone which is an indoor trampoline place. john and i went out to enjoy sushi while alex was enjoying her birthday party. yesterday was alex's first day of the fifth grade! she was nervous, but i guess it went pretty well. she seems pretty happy that her homeroom/math teach is a woman this year. and she was happy about going back today, but hoping the bus wasn't going to be as late. she was disappointed that she didn't get to see the eclipse - i couldn't find legitimate glasses for any of us. but there will be a better one in 2024 :)
