we are headed into alex's last week of summer break! that went really fast. she got her teacher assignment and got her backpack and school supplies all set for the first day. on saturday, alex had a playdate over at her friend libby's house. it sounds like they had fun and they got mcdonald's for lunch and i don't know what else they did. john and i were very productive while alex was off having fun. on sunday, we decided to head out to cedar point. it was a super hot day there and crowded. john and i got to try a new coaster (new for us) called maverick. we went separately since alex won't ride the bigger coasters and this one would have been too much for her. but john and i enjoyed the ride - it's my new favorite and i already want to go back and ride it. and we found a penny press at the exit of that coaster so alex added 3 new coins to her collection. this week is also alex's last field trip week and it's the animal guy - alex is really hoping he has his chinchilla again. and alex has been playing a ton of minecraft and making "banners."
