First - Alex's favorite commercial. The Alltel commercial where they go to the wizard's house and he summons a dog that chases them away.
Second - the magic paper. When Alex was younger she was such a handful to change her diaper (well, that part hasn't changed, but the paper trick doesn't work anymore), we would give her this piece of paper - which was actually a coupon card from a pack of diapers - and it would distract her enough for us to get the job done. We have kept this paper.
Third - when kaya wants to come inside, alex will go to the door and slap her hand on her leg and tell kaya "now" to get her to come inside.
Fourth - the frogs in canada. at bopey and norm's house in canada they had window jellies. on the one window were frogs and flowers - alex would peal them off the window and procede to pull them apart in little pieces. right now in canada there is a sliding glass door full of alex fingerprints and torn up froggie pieces.
Fifth - the first night at home. the first night we were home from the hospital it was my turn to sleep and john's turn to take care of the baby (at least between feedings). well, alex didn't want to sleep at all, and john was so tired. alex's pajamas (a sleeping bag type pajama), was too big on her. john was so frustrated with the sleeves on the pajamas and tired because alex would not sleep at all (and this is what the third night in after having a new baby who eats every 1 - 2 hours), that he didn't think to roll up the sleeves of the jammies, he cut the sleeves off. we have kept the sleeves as a momento.
love all.
