camping out

with all the rain this year we have not had a chance to camp out at all - in our backyard. so finally, friday night was the perfect weather for a backyard sleep out. we set up the tent and the mattresses - alex helped put the poles together. she had a snack of marshmallow and graham crackers - she didn't want her marshmallow cooked so we didn't bother with the firepit. it was lovely sleeping weather and alex is already asking when we can camp out again. saturday, alex and i had errands to do most of the day but we stopped for lunch at 5 guys where she was charming the cook while eating peanuts and tons of french fries - she didn't care too much for the round grilled cheese. alex also did lots of roller skating this weekend and did some more practicing on her big girl bike. she's getting better on her bike and a little less scared each time.
